Hello,

I created a DVD with iDVD. However, here's details on my problem.
1. Created DVD with iDVD
2. I used MTR to rip the files on the DVD 1 week later
3. Then I used burn a DVD+R using Disk Utility
4. The DVD's will only play on my MAC and my 1 month old DVD player. I have tried 5 other DVD players and the DVD will not play. However, the original DVD will play.

I am stumpped. What could I have done wrong?

ok..

you did ok with the mtr, but when you burn with disk utility to a dvd and want to use it in dvd player, it will NOT work.
in order to have it work that way, you need DVD imager.
dvd needs to be "UDF" format.. disk utility will not burn that way.

it may just be the media not compatible with the other players.

here's a thread i found this in:

Quote:
To start you can only verify and repair the disk permissions of your boot drive.

When you download DVD Imager tou get .sit file. If you double-click on it you get DVD_Imager1.2.dmg (this is what you are trying to look up with Disk Utility). What you have to do is forget about Disk Utility and double-click on the DVD_Imager1.2.dmg on your desktop to mount it. Once this is done a finder window will come up with its contents (Readme file, source folder and DVD Imager application). You only have to drag the DVD Imager app. to your applications folder. Once you do that you can eject the DVD_Imager1.2 volume mounted on your Desktop.
To use DVD Imager application you only have to double-click on its icon in the Applications folder and the application will open. Now drag the video_ts folder to the top part of the DVD Imager window and click on create image.
