Hi, I have 2 modbo problems. One I installed on my PS2 v.4 and the other on my friend's PS2 slim.
The modbo on my v.4 PS2 was working for a month. Then, one day, I noticed that it starts to freeze up in the middle of a game. It seems that it's loading or something because after a while, the game resumes. After I turn it off, the next time I play my backups, it wouldn't work anymore. All I'm getting is the red screen with the message that says that I need to put a PS2 game disc in. Anyone have any ideas? Another thing of note is that I still can bring up the modbo menu when holding the O and the X buttons during the start up of the PS2. I fiddle with the menu but still can't play any backups. All the originals work though.
The second problem is also with the same chip but it's in my friend's new PS2 slim. His PS2 also work about a month, then all of a sudden it wouldn't load any backups nor originals. I check it out his PS2 myself. I found out that it has trouble just starting up. Every time I pressed the power button, it turns to green and then right back to red. Every now and then, I get the system to load. When his PS2 does load a media, it only plays PS1 originals and audio CDs. Backups doesn't work, PS2 originals doesn't work, and neither are DVDs. I suspect that the DVD drive is busted but that's just my hypothesis.
Anyway, any body with any ideas please help me out. Also, is there any fix if the DVD drive is broken in the new PS2 slims? I found a lot of helps on DVD drive for the old PS2s but nothing on the new Slims. Weird. Well, all helps are appreciated and I'm sorry if this problems was mentioned before. I have looked through the forum but found nothing that answers my questions.
