Hello! I am looking for someone that can help a "newbie". I have a DVD that was made by another friend. It has 10 .VOB files - each is an episode of a show. I can put the DVD into a dvd player and it plays, but there are no menus. I would like to add menus to the DVDs or make a new DVD that has menus, whatever works. I have downloaded over 20 programs today trying to convert files and alot of other stuff, most of which made no sense. I am just LOST :) I normally use "sonic dvd" and it's easy to make the dvd however I want from .mpeg files like adding menus, themes and background music, but I cannot solve this one with the .VOB files. Do I need to convert the .VOB files and what do I convert them to? If anyone can help me I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks - Yunica

Alright well I use Nero Vision Express you can get a free 20 days trial at there website. Then you take all the vobs from the disk and add them to a new ""make a movie"" option. Make sure to import them as seperate video segments which should then make however many movie files when the transfer finishes. From there provided u have windows xp the next button will take you to a screen that should allow you to create a menu and customize it to some extent. If you need any more help reply and I will try to get back asap.

Alright Yunica, everything you said can be solved by the wonderful program, "Dvd-Lab Pro". This program will take the .VOB and Demux them for you, meaning it will break up the .VOB into a mpeg and a .AC3 file, which is an audio file. In this program you can create backgrounds, menus, themes, anything you can think of. Dvd-lab does take a little time to learn though, but it is well worth it. This is a site from videohelp.com that will help you get the basics down: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=220092. I, and also many others have probably found this guide very usefull and informative. Give this program a try.
