Thanks for the info!

On a somewhat related note, someone in a recent post mentioned that you should burn the blank cd-r's soon after buying them, and not store them for any length of time.

Is there any arcane but valid reason behind this, or is this just another cd-r wives tale?

 ... Just keep 'em in a cool dark place and you'll be all right ... You should do this with the CDs after they're burned also ...

put them under your desk or in a drawer with your socks, it really doesn't matter. i wouldn't store them on your roof in the hot sun, or next to the water heater or furnace. but sitting on top of your desk is usually fine. but for christs sake dont forget to feed them daily!
