Hi
I have some sort of modchip on my ps2 and i have a ps2 official harddrive(40gb).The problem i have is that my online does not work anymore after i transfered some game files from my memory card to the harddrive. My online game socom2 which is a real copy used to work but after i transferred the memory card game fiels to the harddrive it seems to detect my modchip. is there some sort of way i can fix this error? i really want to play my socom2 online again.

Indeed, try turing off the modchip, and return the socom 2 saves to your memcard, there's a big chance you can't properly run those off of the hdd.

i do turn my ps2 off. i held the power button for 5seconds which turns it off. i didnt touch the socom2 files from the memory card. it was files like jak3 and stuff. after i put those game saves in the harddrive for storage i couldnt get it to work again. and the guy that fixed it says that some of the mod chip files were erased or soemthing but i cant get him to fix it becasue he is no longer here. is there someway i can fix the files again? i tried to put the files back into the memory card but it didnt work.

what kind of mod chip requires files on the MC to work???

SOunds like a shady deal to me! There should be a way to dissable the mod chip. On my unit you turn the power switch on at the back, then press and HOLD the power button on the front. Keep holding it while the unit powers up, then release it when you see the blue clouds appear on the screen. After that I am able to load the game that was in ther drive with the mod chip dissabled.
