ok so here it is, hope this is the right place to ask, i have been puting together some dvds using a combination of programs, tmpgenc dvd author, clone dvd and nero, when i finally burn to a disc (4X) it will play fine up till the last half hour to an hour, then it will pause , stop and pixelate (right word?) and even freeze up my player (stand alone, several models) but if i take that same disc and make a copy of it (even with same program i burned it with (at 4x) and same media) the copy works just fine, any ideas?? really dont want to have to make two of everything i do just to get one good copy, this has done this one cheap media as well as expencive, any help would be great, if you need more info let me know
thanks
Sandy

This might sound stupid to the smarter members, but I think this might work...You say the original burn will not work, but a copy of the original will work correct? Possibly could you mount the image on a virtual drive and copy from there? Sorry...Not much experience but that sounds like it would work, right?

well, i would say that i am semi smart myself, dont sound dumb as i have already tried that, only works if i make a copy from the actual disc that i burned, i hav gotten around this problem with a few other things i just thought i was a little odd is why i was asking.
thanks

try a different brand of media . making 2 copies of the same movie to get one good copy is a waste of disc's . what media are you using ? also you could try using a rw disc till you get this figured out .

Yes that is a very good idea...Burn to a DVD-RW disc, then copy from it, erase when completed.

Nice...See, Now why didn't I think of that?:P
