I don't really understand the process of patching an Xbox game.

I usually don't bother, but I've been told to patch certain games (I forget why; maybe cuz they were change via pc to cut down space or problem files). I just went into Quix and clicked on "Patch XBE."

But can this hurt? I just tried to burn my "Brothers in Arms" iso after patching, and DVD Decrypter gave an error. But then I burned "Ratchet & Clank" for ps2 fine, so it's probably not the media.

What gives?

No, it's never a bad thing to patch your .xbe's. Many people never even bother to patch them, and never have any problems. I use Craxtion v31, and that automatically patches games, and I have never had a problem w/ any of my backups.
