Magic 3.1+ is driving me crazy!!!

i have insalled magic 3.1+ chip and it looks okay. don't think there are any bridges and i made the 'pwr' and 'gnd' wires as shrt as possible aswell. wen i started my ps2 from the main switch at da back...da red light comes on but den wen i press the reset button it doesn't on...and the eject button doesnt wrk eithr....this is da second time it has happened 2 me.....y does it not on??

What version is your ps2 (if possible could you send pictures of the board) Also have magic 3.1. works fine on mine

check your reset ribbon cable. You may have buggered it up.

Try taking out the chip if. if the ps2 works after, then it could be the install or defective chip.

its not as easy as you think.

PLus you need to desolder the wires, since thats where the problem would be.

I had the same problem with my infinity matrix, desoldering was more easier than puting it in.

I find I can solder something up much esier than I can desolder things. Maybe I am just challeneged like that.

You could try a maginfying glass and check the solder points. Particulalry the smaller close together ones. There may be a chance that one is bridged.

You may also check the fuses on your main board. There are pics on the net of which ones to check and where they are and what they do.

What do you think of Magic 3.1+D9? I have an Infinity Matrix, but i've heard good stuff on this one too.
