If the Colunists and and Native Americans ate cat instead of turkey then for every thanksgiving would we be eating pussy?
lol! That's funny, I don't care who you are!
It's said that dreams come from things you experience, people you meet, thoughts you think etc. which get messed up in your subconsciousness. Sometimes this idea seems to be right, but sometimes I just can't imagine what could be possible base material for my dreams: They seems to be somekind of telepathic live feedback from lunatic asylum because they're so insane.
Quote:Freud said that most dreams are wish-fulfillments, and that an important part of these wishes are the result of repressed sexual desires, desires that can scare us so much that our dreams turn into nightmares. He concluded that dreams are divided into wishful dreams, anxiety dreams, and punishment dreams. Punishment dreams are in fact also fulfillment of wishes, though not of wishes of the instinctual impulses but of those of the critical, censoring, and punishing agency in our controlling minds
I actually believe that they are triggered by oxygen starvation to the brain.
Basically when you are asleep, you can be in several positions during the night, and these positions can reduce blood flow around the body, thus reducing it to certain areas of the brain, and the areas that are starved then get confused and messed up and that's where the wierd dreams come from..................
Emotions, visions, encounters all get mixed up and joined to produce a motion like no other....................
dreams are visions of another world. this world itself could be a dream. perhaps when we dream, we are leaving a mass-hallucination to enter what is, in truth, reality. the nightmares, the fantasies--they could all be truths of another time, universe, or dimension. who's to say that this isn't a dream right now?
are we awake, or are we asleep? are we even truly alive in this world? could this all be nothing but a dream? when will we wake up?
Quote:The activation-synthesis theory (developed by Hobson and McCarley) states that the brain tries to interpret random impulses from the pons as sensory input
The brain tries to interpret these impulses by pluging in previous memories that the brain feels best accomodates the particular impulse. This would explain why some dreams are disorganized or don't make much sense.
