I am new at this. I understand ripping and converting to avi or mpg to burn to Video CD, but how do I convert a ripped DVD to m2v format (like for music videos)?? I want to rip some video's, but want them in m2v format. Any help would be appreciated.

Use TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools, there's a function called Demux. Open the ripped VOB and Demux it and you have separate video and audio file after that. Then simply use Mux/Multiplex to join them back together and you have MPEG-2 system stream.
