I have a P3 256 Ram PC. I couple months ago DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink were working fine, all of a sudden both are working very slow. Decryptor is now taking on average 50 minutes to do what it did in 15 min. Well Shrink I dont think you want to know the times I am getting from that. Was working at the rate of 15 minutes to shrink, now some movies up to 3 hours.
Is there a post in the FORUMS that discusses this problem at length?
If so can someone please direct me there.
Thank You All.............. Key63

It could be a number of things--have you defragmented your hard drive lately?--if not--do that first---Also, you might want to uninstall both Shrink and Decrypter, then re-install--I would try those couple things first--see if that works--let us know--Good Luck
Well I have uninstalled and reinstalled both DVD Decrypter and Shrink with the same resolts. I don't think it is the read devices, I have uesde 4 different devices with the same resolts. Even reformatted my system so nothing would be on it to make sure it wasn't some other device. But just had a thought while writing this.
Can Nero have this affect on your system? XP mainly? Had a problem with an old motherboard where Nero(INCD) was stopping me from going to SAFE MODE. OR can it be BIOS? Just don't know what to try next. Like I said it should sound like what you said because it was working fine for many months and I know I had more than 6 errors in that time. All of a sudden one day nothing was running write with them both(decrypter/shrink).

I don't have personal experience with this but the answer is YES--the program In CD in Nero is supposed to conflict with more than a couple other programs--including Decrypter and Shrink---and you did check to make sure the quality settings in Shrink were Not checked?- and that you are in fact in DMA mode and Not PIO---as jim_dandy mentioned.
I think you should UNinstall Nero, then re-install without IN CD--
that may well make the difference--sounds like it anyway and sure beats re-formatting--that was kind of drastic (although I have done it to!)
Good Luck and let us know how you make out.
check in the task manager, that nothing is eating up your ram,.....>>>
have you got any virus's etc? do a full scan, and shut down everything that looks dodgy
OK, tried all of that and still the same. Where can I find the settings for DVD Decrypter? maybe they are not setting to default when I load the program.
DVD Decrypter runs slower than usual then DVD Shrink really take hours for a movie. Can a outdated motherboard or BIOS chip be the cause for some of this?
