i need some ideas from you guys on what i should do about this problem. alright it starts off i bought this ps2 from my friend and he sold it to me for $65 and it worked for about a month and then it wouldnt read any games it would say disk read error. ive tried cleaning the laser but still no reading games, then i called the ps2 hotline and they said they would get me a refurbished one for $45 but i dont feel like spending $100 all together on an old ps2 then i tried calling radioshack and a bunch of other places that might could had fixed it but no one could, do yall have any sugestions on what i should do thats under the price of $30, and if anyone wants to buy it from me you can if you want the parts, just PM me i might or might not sell it im still deciding

most likely your laser is dead and just to get the new part it will cost you $40-50 so in other words you can't fix it for $30 or under. I'd send it to sony and get a replacement for $45.

i saw a ps2 with broken laser sell for £15 the other day, so what's that, like $8-10?

Lol, sounds like you got ripped off then.. that's the thing with buying used consoles..their dodgy and the laser are cheap and nasty.
