TY disk troubles

Hello gents
I am having trouble writing to the new TY I recently bought I keep getting a lead in error which leaves me with a coaster!! I can burn to any other brand name and I don't know why I' having trouble with these disks. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

There is a newer Firmware for your writer which will probably sove your problems.. Your drive has ver A302 here is the link to A303

Your Nero is out of dated, its latest version is 6.6.0.15

You're trying write too close to the edge, try to manually custom it to "4350MB" or at least "4400MB".

And lastly, just like bbmayo said; update or upgrade your dvd burner's firmware - this, usually solve the problem.

cheers to bbmayo and alkohol, VERY good suggestions...if i might add...make sure your new TYs are GENUINE...i've had similar problems w/ my burner recognizing/not burning to media because they were FAKES~

what type of TYs are they? 4x, 8x, 16x? DVD-R or DVD+R ? also, check on the inner hub, there should be a "serial number" to verify authenticity...please post up that number as i would be more than happy to verify for you~ :) just want to make sure that MEDIA is not the culprit in this case...as it was for me in the past, just wanted to share my experience with you habman12~ :)

thanks guys.. I have looked into the "fake" disk thing and they are the real TY's.
as for the Firmware, am I able to update it while I am running it from my laptop (in an external case)? or do I have to find a tower and install it and then update? and i will update Nero.
