I couln't find the information I needed in the forums so I'll ask here. I have a NTSC Gamecube and I was wondering if it was possible to play backups with only an Action Replay? I don't want to buy another gamecube (modded), use a soldering modchip, or do that online stuff in the first post of this forum. If it isn't possible only with the Action Replay, then is there a solderless modchip or something like a swap disc that I can very easily buy to play backups? Is it possilble to make backups of gamecube games on a DVD-RW using minidiscs and Nero (I don't want to take my gamecube apart to use the regular-sized discs)? And if so, what minidisc brand/type works the best?

There is only one way to backups.

You need a ripper, a method of loading the ripper onto the GC, a Broadband adaptor and a ethernet cable.

Only the GC drive can read the GC Disk, so no, you cannot use a DVD RW..

If you want to be able to play backups, your going to have to mod the one you have or spend some cash and get the proper Soft mod gear.. f this is too confusing or complicated for you there is always the "clearanc Bin" and walmart where GC games go for $9.96.

Nothing is free...

But I read somewhere about people using just Action Replay and something called SDLoad. Where can I find all the stuff for the SDLoad?

Can somebody just tell me exactly what I have to do in order to make GC backups and read them on my GC in simpler terms? If possible, the cheapest way (on a tight budget, willing to spend about $50 for this).

You will find SDLoad at www.gcdev.com

To make it work, you will need a SD card adapter for your gamecube. You will have to buy it from somewhere (I think lik-sang have them) or make your own from a memory card and a SDcard connector (requires a bit of patience, soldering skills and tools).

There is plenty of information on all that. Google is your friend.
