I have a NEC 3500AG burner and im planning on buying Taiyo Yuden media. I don't kow the difference between dvd-r and dvd+r. Will my ps2 and dvd player play dvd-r/dvd+r ? I also need these disks to play on most dvd players since i will be using them for school. Thanks for thte help

what version ps2 do you have, i think if its older then V5, it will play -r and newer will do +r

You should have posted this on the PS2 forum, but it's ok because I was once a newbie just you like you're now. So, here I am trying to help you.

Personally, I prefer the DVD+R medias over any DVD-R. However, if you have got an older PS2 system or older dvd player, then it's best to stick with DVD-R. On the other hand, if your burner can support "booktype" - this will make it more easier for your old PS2 and dvd player to read/play any DVD+R format flawlessly. You can have Nero or DVD Decrypter do the booktype set to "DVD-ROM" and you should be square away.
