I have been trying for a while now to get major payne to rip

i am using the following
virtual dub 1.4.13
dvd2avi
smartripper
and the divx 5.0.2 codec
on a windows xp pro system

i am getting great video at only a 650 bitrate however my audio sucks it makes major payne sound like a chimpmunk and as amusing as this may be the audio is so speed-up that it ends about a half an hour before the video does

lol although i may pull the audio file out and rename it chipmunk payne for my own amusement i would like to get this actually working so that i can watch the video and listen to the correct audio at the same time

Thanks

What program do you use for the sound compression? In the guide for DivX movies CDex is used.

Please take a look at this guide! I think it will solve your problem...

Sounds like you're have a problem with your audio bitrate and codecs.

I'm guessing your trying to get it down to a DIVX 5 AVI file.

I'd suggest:
DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0 -
Rip the DVD, Movie stream and a single audio stream.

Then Use DVD2AVI, and use LAME MP3 Audio codec.
BE SURE 48->44.1 KHZ IS OFF!!

Then let it encode....
