i think then that i have the magic 3.1+D9. b/c i checked at modchip.com where i got it and the exact chip i got brags about how it is DVD9 ready.
i sadly admit that i have never rebuilt a game to make it fit on smaller media. i hope they don't kick me off the forum for that. lol
Multi Disk - DVD9 Ready = that is right from modchip.com about the chip i got. it doesn't matter, i haven't try booting it a lot, just a couple of times and it is only one game. i' ll just play the original.
I forgot to ask b4 did you patch the image of Gt4 with the Toxic Patch b4 burning to a dvd9? Also i use noticed it's a modchip your using not swap magic, i got mixed up sorry, man i fell stupid :)
no, i didn't patch it. is that just for DVD9 games. i don't think so but i never patched a game before and it still plays everything fine except gt4, which is on a DVD9 disc.
where do you get this patch. do you think that's my problem?
As far as i know no modchip could play a backup of GT4 due to a major problem with the way it burned, after applying the Toxic patch to the GT4 image on your hdd it should work, as far as i know ps2nfo.com has it.
success, to a point anyway. the patch helps boot up. i get up to where it checks for a mem card. i need a new mem card b/c mine doesn't have enough room on it.
however, when it just starts to load after checking for the mem card, there is this awful grinding sound. like nothing i ever heard before. i check other backups and it is fine.
tomarrow i am going to open it up and see what the heck is up.
