I use nero multi-session to burn 3GB of data to my memorex dvd-rw and multi-session is able to add additional data to a burned dvd-rw if theres remaining space. And I reinsert the dvd after I burn it and use nero, and add another 200MB file to the same dvd with 3GB used and click burn. After its done I reinserted back in and I can only see the 3GB I burnrd earlier and cant find the 200mb file, so is it in there or its not burned. Hopefully it dosent overwrite.

No it doesn't, but could be worse 'cos Nero has warned that multi-session burning is not yet a reliable technology and there have been many reports of similiar situations that you are facing. It has been said that updating the firmware might sometimes help. If not, you may need to use other programs to salvage the files.
