I have a few questions.

1. I have the network adapter, I have a hard drive, I am waiting on the hd loader software. Is there any thing else i need?

Can I just hook the hd up to the network adp and load the software on the ps2, or will i have to format it on the computer by hooking the hd up to the computer?

2. can you download hd loader?

Can someone help me.

Yeah you have all the right gear for it, you can hook it up to the PC and use a application called WinHIP it can format the hdd into a Ps2 file system and it can also transfer images from your PC hdd to the Ps2 hdd, and it's faster. As for downloading a hdloader yeah you can BUT you need some sort of method of booting it I.E. Swap Magic.

so do i have to have WinZIP? if i have all the right software cant i just burn from the playstation?

Sorry i don't understand what you mean by WinZIP, if by burning you mean copy the game from the Ps2 to the Ps2 hdd then yeah.

You have all the gear you need.
When you put the disc in it will look for your hdd and will give you an option to format it.
after that you can transfer games to hdd using the ps2 which usually takes about 20mins.

One thing I learn't soon after setting mine up was that most games need to have a particular "mode" setting done using the HD software. I have HD advance and pressing the select button brings up a menu with three mode options. any combination from none to all three modes are needed to make the game run. Search the softwares hompage for a game = mode database or google it. So far I have found mode three selected is the most popular fix.

you have all the gear you need to get started so you should be good in that department but you can format your ps2 hdd with the disk on you ps2. because i have hdd advanced and i formated the hdd on the ps2 using the disk
