hi, i just got myself a PS2 Slim system, My friend has a PS2 also but not slim, and cant back up GT4.

Im curious , what is the best mod-chip for this system, i been reading around and some say they are better than others and those others better than those some. and is there a mod-chip that supports for dual-layer blank dvd's ? for backing up GT4 ? thanks

FLIP-TOP is best and safest mod. Have to use a boot disc, Swap Magic, but better then burning up PS2. From what I have seen modded Ps2 with chips seem to have a lower life span then regular unmodded PS2s.

DMS4 with auto patch is good for dual layer.

for your friend, tell him to apply the toxic patch to his iso of GT4 before he burns it to a disc and it will work if he has a mod that supports dual layer.

SwapMagic 3.6 + SlimTool is the easiest cheapest method 4 PSTwo(slim)
SwapMagic 3.6 + SlideCard/Dix_Fix is the easiest cheapest method of playing yr copies 4 PS2
Dont listen 2 anyone who says SMD is not as good as DMS 3/4(or others) i own & mod PS2s/PSTwos (1000s) without exception the easiest & cheapest mod method is SMD(SwapMagic) + u dont have 2 open yr console 2 fit it.

Swap Magic and tape mod is best(do it yourself). Cheapest way to play backup games.
