hi

wouldnt the remote control be able to flick through files? as you say you dont want a dvd made up only plonk the files on dvdr.

but as to an app to make menus for files only of AVI no idea?

try the DivX / AVI threads/titles on main page...

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

I know what u mean rotary, i can select the different episodes using the remote. But what i wanted if possible was to make a Menu like ones u see on DVDs, where u put the cd in the player, and it comes up with a menu where u can see the name, with maybe a lil pic and the ability to select it. Am i crazy or is this askin too much?

If you do get the chance invest in a divx/xvid player, theyre great! Im not a fan of watching things on the comp. Best thing is being able to download shows/films in .AVI format which are usually of excellent quality, and being able to fit a hell of a lot on a DVD-R disc, and then watchin it on tele. A bit of advice if u are thinking of investin in a DivX player. Current players arent able to support XviD files encoded with packed bitstream, which is why you'll find that they play slow...thing to do there is unpack the file using a prog called Mpeg4 modifier, which usually does it in under afew min ;) I know this advice seems a bit premature, but trust me it'll save u a lot of hassle if u do decide to invest.

Oh and by the way...cheers for the welcome.
