You will need to use an autoinstaller to get a dashboard onto your HD. Why is it giving you trouble? Just burn Slayers onto a QUALITY DVD-R or CD-RW and your Xbox drive should be able to pick it up.
If your Drive in your Xbox cannot read backup games worth a crap, grab a buddies drive out of their Xbox and put it in yours.
If you have a buddy that has a modified Xbox, you can put your HD in his Xbox and FTP the dashboard onto your HD and then pop it back in your Xbox.
hahaha, I basically live on my computer. Yeah, take a buddies drive out of their Xbox and put it in yours. If you have a few friends w/ Xbox's, try to find a samsung drive as it reads backup media the best out of all the drives made for Xbox. Or look for a Hitachi, then a philips, then last but not least the thomson. Remember, you will be voiding your friends warranty on their Xbox if they have one still.
i have a 1.6 box so it already has a samsung but i have a messed up xbox lying around here somewhere ( no pwer getting anywhere) so ill try to take out the drive from that ill post my results here when im done
