I have 2 svcd files and I want to combine them to 1. I extracted the bin files with Undisker and combined the 2 mpeg files uisng TmpGenc. I'd like to burn the combined file as and svcd as well using TmpGenc. I was just wondering what settings I should use, specifically what bitrate to use. I checked with G_spot but it couldn't find the bitrate of the orginal files.

I don"t understand your Question...If the Files are allready SVCD Files why do you need to encode them to SVCD?? I don"t get it??

Also TMPGEnc doesn"t Burn SVCD"s or anything for that Matter as TMPGEnc is Just a Mpeg encoder unless you are Talking about "Tmpgenc DVD Author" which still will not Burn SVCD"s also if these 2 SVCD Files that you Joined Together were each extracted from a Full SVCD Disk How are you going to Fit them Both to a single CD-R in SVCD Mode as they are Most Likely too Big to Fit on a CD-R....

Maybe you should Start from the Beginning and explain "Exactly" what you are Trying to do....

Cheers

Sorry for the confusion. What I want to do is combine 2 SVCD movies into 1. Actually it's the same movie but came in 2 parts.

I'm not sure if this is the correct first steps but here's what I've done so far. The files originally came in bin/cue format, so I used undisker to extract them to my hd. Now I have 2 sets of SVCD folders. I want to combine those 2 SVCD movies into 1 so I took the mpeg file from each of the "MPEG2" folders and used TMPGEnc to combine them into 1 mpeg file. Now I need a way to turn that newly combined mpeg file into an SVCD.

Oh and I plan to burn the file movie onto a DVD. I guess the first question I should have asked is if it's ok to burn an SVCD on a DVD media.

OK... Now I get what you are Trying to Do...You are Trying to back up a Couple SVCD Disks to DVD??

So Far You are sort of on the Right Track, what you Need to Do Now after you Have Joined the 2 SVCD Files into One Big Mpeg-2 file is to use a DVD Authoring Program so you can Put the Files on to DVD...

There is only one DVD Authoring Program on the Market that will allow you to Put SVCD Mpeg files on to DVD "Without" re-encodeing the Files and that program is Called "MediaChance DVDLab Pro"...

DVDLab pro will allow you to Put your SVCD files on to DVD without re-encodeing them which means there is No Quality Loss going from SVCD To DVD and you Can Fit up to 3 Full SVCD movies on a Single DVD-R...

If you go into the "Guides" section of this Site you will find a Guide on how to Put SVCD Files on to DVD useing DVDLab....

Cheers
