You should look on the web for Magic3 Swap discs. Its great! Well I dont know where you are from but I bought mine from www.slidecard.nl ( Netherlands ) so far so good. No opening of your console, just 2 little plastic things which you have to insert in your console and with the use of the disc ... well its magic indeed and also much cheaper than modding with chips ( Gosh I sound like a salesman :) ) well if you want to know more go to http://www.swapmagic3.com/

Nah.. its very easy! The plastics are very tiny tough.. so when you have big fingers like me it can become a little bit troublesome but after 10 minutes I was playing already... Its a real winner this type of "modding"

I would go with a hard drive kit which you can get from a guy on iOffer. Just read through the sales carefully. He mods the slim and yes you read right you can have an internal hard drive if you get the kit (not really fully internal but NOT USB).

For USB Advance/eXtreme I used a WD400 in a USB2 enclosure. I installed games with the official Windows interface and used USB eXtreme Free Edition to boot them.
For HDLoader I am using WinHIIP to install games onto the WD400 in the USB enclosure. Then I transfer them to a Maxtor 120 DIAMONDMAX PLUS 9 6Y120L0. I boot with Fully Patched HDLoader.
If you have questions, go to http://list.ps2hd.com/ to see what games work, and for easy exploits and flash video tutorials check http://www.ps2hd.com/

It is possible to play (orginal) games online. Have not tested copied ones yet.. Im also in doubt with this one.. will my PS2 be banned or something when they find out its a copied game? ( cant think of why it should be cuz the DNAS will be normal, there has been no modding with any chips.. )

Regarding the lid.. Yupe.. you can just close it.. briliant!

The only thing that will happen is that for the game Socom II you could get banned for 48 hours. That is the only game that does that. And it only bans your network not your IP so if you were a real online freak you could have two network adapters and switch them every time you get banned, lol. It's not like XBox Live, Bill Gates wont come through your modem and slap you or anything :)
