X2 bios manager will not detect my chip

If someone has had this problem and can help me please let me know. I have an X2 lite + modchip that the cromwell bios somehow got currupt when installing and it does is frag 3 times. I have the x2 programmer and im following the guide off teamxecuters site. It just will not detect my chip. I have it directly plugged in the back of my pc. The power lights are on the chip and the programmer. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated.
