Hi, am using Winavi video convertor program to convert my avi files to dvd to play them on my dvd player. I didn't have any problem when i burned my first movie, but the second time i burned another movie the sound in the film comes before the picture which is really Ridiculous. Does anyone plz know why this happens and how can i solve it and IF there's another better program to use instead of this stupid program.
Your Problem has to do with the Fact that most Movies you download off the Net use "VBR Mp3" audio which is a Format that will Allways go out of Sync after converting to another Format ...
So to Solve this Problem you Must Decompress the audio in your AVI files before you attempt to Encode the File....
You can decompress the audio in your AVI file by useing "Virtual-Dub"...
What you do is Run V-Dub and then Load in your AVI file (which will give you an error message right off the Bat because the audio is VBR MP3, Just Click OK)...
Then go to "Video" and set it to "Direct Stream Copy" and then go to "Audio" and set it to "Full processing Mode" and then go to "File" to "Save as AVI" and give the File a Name and Save it and in a Few Minutes you will have a New AVI File with Uncompressed Audio that will Not (Hopefully) go out of Sync after encodeing....
The New AVI file will Be Much Bigger than the Original because the audio is Decompressed But that will Not affect the Size of the File when encoded to Mpeg-2/DVD....
Thnx for your reply mate, when i opened the AVI file with Virtual-Dub the error message came out so i did what you told me but it didn't fix the problem!
When i installed vitual dub and read the guide on how to combine 2 AVI files, it said after combining the files go to video and set it to direct stream copy, then go to Audio and set it to direct stream copy aswell. Is that what i need to do instead of setting the audio to full processing mode?
Did you decompress the audio in Both AVI files before Trying to Join them??
You set the Audio to "Full Processing Mode" because you have to decompress the audio and after you have decompressed the audio and are ready to Join the 2 Files that have Decompressed audio then you can set the audio back to "Direct Stream Copy".....
If you are Still getting sync problems then PM me with your e-mail address and I can send you a Small tool that will decompress the audio in your AVI files and then you can use Virtual-Dub to Join the 2 Files with Decompressed audio......
No i was talking about the guide on virtual dub but the AVI file i have is only one, so i don't need to join it but yes am still getting bloody sync problems mate and am really getting fed up.
Do you think the problem got to do with Winavi video convertor? should i use another program instead? i don't really know what to do mate. Did u face this kind of problem b4?
By the way i burned about 5 movies and i opened these files with virtual dub and one of those files got that error message but there wasn't any sync problems when i burned that movie and the other ones.
