Actually you need both. I've got 2 pc's set up. This one with dual dvd drives and my spare pc with single benq 1620 DVD-RW drive.

Dvd decrypter is quicker on my single drive pc on the DVD-5 movies, but the dvd-9's will still have to be compressed with DVD Shrink-thus taking longer. It's also quicker when I want to make another copy of my backup using ISO read and ISO write with DVD Decrypter. You can also iso read and iso write if you are using dual layer media.

Dvd decrypter also handles the newer sony arcos encryption whereas DVD Shrink gives us crc errors.DVD Shrink doesn't have a burn engine!.

Now on my main pc,and any movie without the sony arcos encryption. DVD Shrink is faster for me,unless it is a DVD-5 movie, then it's not much slower. Insert original and blank in each drive,4-5 clicks and process starts.

I do use Nero for my burning on both pcs,but you can use DVD Decrypter to "auto-burn" with DVD Shrink.

@counley - just click on the underlined words - i.e. DVD-5 or DVD-9 - it gives a glossary for certain words

Nero has a packet called "In-Cd". This packet should be avoided. Roxio has a packet to avoid,I believe it is called "Drag to Disc"?

I've got a few friends with both Nero and roxio and they are burning ok.Not very many members here use roxio.I just got the basic oem Nero version 6.0.0.21b on this machine, but it does a super job on both dvd and cd backups.
Doing a disc copy on the fly:My Nero kicks ass compared to the "My Sonic" software that came on this pc.
