just wondering if there was a big difference between the quality of the Verbatim dvd+r brand and the GENERIC Verbatim dvd+r brand? and would it be worth purchasing the generic brand? and one more thing....about the TY dvd's.....can you tell me a place to find those cheap b/c those seem to be the most popular?

i have found no noticeable difference between the retail Verbatim DVD+R and the generic kind~ :) i have used MCC003s EXTENSIVELY and the OEMs are just as good as my retail Verbs~ :)
secondly, TYs can be bought online from a reputable online retailer such as www.supermediastore.com, www.meritline.com, www.rima.com, that should get you started~ just compare prices, since those 3 are trustworthy. i buy MOST of my online TYs from supermediastore.com, that is just my preference~
stay away from shop4tech.com as i've been scammed with FAKE TYS from them in the past and others have to~ :)

Verbatim Data Life Plus are the only verbs I will buy. The verbatim digital movie quality aren't bad,but the Verbatim data life does have some of their media made by c-magnetics.
The data life plus features the metal azo dye. These are among the best along with genuine taiyo yuden.
Those sites that kivory666 posted are very reputatable on their ty's.

how can you tell the difference when you're buying ty dvds online whether they're authentic or fakes?

Meritline 8X DVD+R Media Silver Shiny Blank DVD Plus R Disc- These Blanks have the media code -Media ID: MCC 003 - which if I remember correctly is a Verbatim Code right? and if so has anyone tried these and are they legit verbatims in meritline clothing or do uou think they are just bogus disc usiing verbatim codes? They appear to be more expensive than the GENERIC Verbatims At NEWEGG.COM @ present but hey I figure they may go on sale eventually and if they are real verbatims & they get cheap ! I'm sitting pretty good between verbatims I got at newegg and Fuji/Taiyo's from BestBUy but it pays to keep ones options open ! Just asking you know - Thanx again y'all & happy BURNING! peace!

just make sure u purchase from a reputable online retailer, the stores i mentioned above you should be ok...stay away from shop4tech.com when looking for TYs, as i have PERSONALLY been scammed with FAKE TYs from them~
secondly, don't buy from ebay...there are so many fake TYs on ebay it's not even funny...
thirdly, if you do get some TYS online...there is a code on the inner hub of GENUINE TYs that starts with GG000xxx, GD000xxx, TG000xxx (with xxx being the batch number) that is just another way to differentiate between FAKES and GENUINE TYs...your disc will have one of those 3 codings depending on what speed/format you buy~
hope that helps a bit~ if you are still unsure after running discs through a dvd identifier program, just post the inner hub numbers up on here, i will verify them for you...mind you, i have FAKE TYs as well, so i know what the numbers on there are too~ :)
