killalot- pehaps I can answer your question atleast in a limited fashioN ! There are three types of disc surface Four if you count lightscribe media ! There is Non Printable which is self explanatory - you can write on it with a sharpie pen but it wont work right in an inkjet printer ( ink doe'snt absorb and just makes a nasty inky mess! You also have Inkjet Pritable media these disc maybe silver or white topped and as their name says are designed to work with inkjet printers such as EPSON'S R200/300 . There are also Thermal Printable disc Which are designed to be printable with thermal printers that can print on disc media ! Here's the thricky part Thermal printable dvd's will not print correctly on an inkjet printer either so perhaps you are just using the wrong type pritable media or trying to use non printable surface media in you printer ! Hope this helps answer your question! Peace & Happy Burning CIAO!

The differences between the white inkjet and silver inkjet are color of course and the way the picture turns out. The white ones will look like the original while the silver ones give it a 3D/halographic look. They actually look pretty cool.
