hi, I'm not that experience at ps2 systems, I need some help finding out what kind of modchip i need. If anyone speeks spanish, I need to know what "un ps2 version 3o mil uno" means. I dont understand. I dont understand what "ocho tapones means". thanks for any help.

Well using the Google translator it said "un ps2 version 3o mil uno" means "ps2 version or thousands one" and "ocho tapones" means eight corks. i really don't know if that's correct but that's what Google is saying. What version is your Ps2, you can find out but pressing triangle in the black browser screen, you will see something like SCPH-xxxxxxx this will help pick the best modchip for your version of Ps2.

try going to http://www.xmodd.com
It will tell you what versions the chips will work with
Matrix Infinity and DMS4 Pro or DMS4 Lite are the best one's
and here are the versions

Identify what version PS2 you have
The version 1, 2 and 3 PlayStation 2 all have 10 screws on the bottom of the unit.

SCPH30001 v1 = Serial# begins U1
SCPH30001 v2 = Serial# begins U0
SCPH30001 v3 = Serial# begins U1 Date 1A
SCPH30001 v3 = Serial# begins U2 Date 0D

The versions 4 through 10 PlayStation 2 all have 8 screws on the bottom of the unit.

The 4 and 5 also have the electrical warning stamped on the bottom of the PlayStation 2 case.

SCPH 30001 v4 = Serial# begins with U0
SCPH 30001 v4 = Serial# begins with U1
SCPH 30001 v4 = Serial# begins with U2
SCPH 30001 v4 = Serial# begins with U3
SCPH 30001 v4 = Serial# begins with U4
SCPH 30001 v4 = Serial# begins with U5
SCPH 35001 v4 = GT3 Edition

There are 3 different motherboards for the
SCPH30001R - Version 4, 5 and 6
SCPH30001R v5 or v6 Motherboard
SCPH39001 v7

SCPH50001 v9


SCPH50010 v10

hi i think my ps2 overheated and everytime i start it up it goes to the configure screen i check the console version and it says it is unknown i have a mod chip in it and i think the mod chip is caused the problem because i left my v12 ps2 on for 3 hours. i dont no wat to do can some one please help me. thanks.

first off try not to jack someone elses thread and start your own.
It could be the heat issue. They heat up very quick. And if your house does not have air conditioning then that will also contribute.
Playing it for 3 hours is something i do every weekend with my V12. But the house is cool so the unit stays cool, and i also have a laser fix in mine to go with the chip. Try getting a fan and pointing it directly at the unit, then try to load a game.

sorry. i cant play anything on it. it takes me to the setup screen and the console version is unknown. when i enter the browser it says no data even when i have my memory card pluged into it.

to get the version, check the sticker on the PS2.
It will have the SCH-......
numbers on it. IT should be on the back or somewhere on the machine.

although i need "8" not 10 for my ps2 3,001. what do i do??
