Splinter Cell exploit not working

Hi.
I have splinter cell the original.
I have tried to softmod my Xbox by using SID.Splinter.Cell.v2.0.PAL.Xbox-Hq
and
SID.Splinter.Cell.v2.0.Xbox-Hq.
I have been able to copy these from my action replay memory card and onto the Xbox's hdd.
Then i load up splinter cell and go start game, linux and then just pressed A after that. Then i heard that the screen has to have a like matrix code appearing on the screen, mine is just completly blank and does nothing at all.
Please can someone help me.

You probably have a newer version of xbox. I had problems with it to so Just use the softmod installer deluxe and use mechassualt just rent it and get the softmod installer file from you know where! Good luck
