how to make a playable dvd-r disk that works

i cant make my dvd player or playstation 2, play the dvd-r movie, its says "no disk"
what have i made wrong
please help

i have followed the instructions in here, but someting is misssing, does anyone knows what i have to do, and how?

Check the dvd-r media you are using. Some burners dont like cheap media.

There are also some problems with Pioneer drives and TDK dye discs, like the Silver Bulkpaq. I had a similar problem to the one you describe, simply switching brands might solve your issue.

If not, then it is the method you are using to create and burn the disk. Without more information no one can offer more help. What movie is it? What did you use to strip it? What did you use to edit it? and what did you use to burn it? And what drive and discs are you using?
