I got my 200 gig hd from ebay. They're around 50 cents a gig.Read the sellers feedback before you buy,especially the last 30 days!.

Staple's usually have maxtor's on sale,but not this week.

How big are you looking for?

Dude, you can easily buy a NEW harddrive for under $0.50 a GB. I would never buy a used harddrive. My data is too valuable to take chances.

I bought this 300GB monster just yesterday:

It was MaximumPC's preferred drive until the new Hitachi 7K500 Deskstar came out... but the Deskstar's a lot more $$$ than I can afford right now.

Anyway... Be sure to check out newegg and zipzoomfly.... Also, go over to www.nextag.com once you know what model you want and plug in the model number to compare prices from different online vendors.

Oh figure out what interface (IDE[ATA100] vs. SATA) you're going to use too... as well as making sure you have the right cables and power connectors for the drive (especially for SATA drives).. Since you're probably going to wind up buying and OEM (bare) drive only.
