i guess that depends where you are located. here in the U.S. i heard good things about steelcityelectronics.com. check it out.

if not, afterdawn has a ton of advertisements for modding and other stuff like that.

if u live in an area like toronto or newyork there mite be chinatowns where you can ask a gamestore for a mod chip and the will 99% ahve 1

I decided to send my ps2 to a site called linux chips or something, there going install the provide and install the modchip for about $112. Yeah I know it's alot of money for a mod but it'll be worth it in the long run, amazingly some sites I saw wanted $190 for mod and install.

Ok lets say the DMS4 chip for example, if I get that one will that get rid of all these problems with some games like GT4 and GOW?

Though I haven't gotten my modded ps2 back yet supposedly the DMS4 and matrix infinity chip (I think it's called that) allow you to play your backup copies of GOW and GT4 because these modchips read DVD9/DOUBLE LAYER games which is the format those two games you mentioned use..

@ Ragepro GTA San Andreas is NOT dual layer and can be backed up without any problems using dvd decrypter
