im planning on modding my xbox thru TSOP flash and then putting in a new 160GB Hdd. when i read tuts on how to put in the new HDD it says stuff like lock and unlock your hdd. what the heck does that mean? wich one does it need to be so i can use it?

There are several auto installers out there. I use a program called xboxhdm. You can find it here http://www.xbox-scene.com/software-result.php. The link explains the features and there is a tutorial within the program folder.

Is there a particular motherboard out there that hdm won't work with or a blacklist of desktops. Just wondering so I can pass it on. I build all my PCs but I've never had a problem with it...

If you can add Programs to your XBOX?. Like XBMC for example, the just find a Program called 'ConfigMagic', and install that. Configmagic is the basicly the first and well last word in, HDD Unlocking & Locking Utilities for the XBXO?...

I went up to xboxscene and learn a CRAPLOAD. Now I'm an xbox modder distributer lol. modded 3 xbox so far with upgraded hdd's and halo and halo 2 mods. I found a good alternaive to xboxhdm. if u have a modded xbox u can just lock it with that and put the hdd back in the softbox, just dont forget to return the xboxs back to thier original eeproms afterward. (SHAMEFULLY ADVERTIZING EDITED) sorry lol. anyone trying to mod by themselves i highly recommend going to xboxscene.com <i can advertize that right? b/c that place rox!
