That's news to me. granted I'm not big on the 'Softmod' Scene. But, amongst all the Headaces that 'Softmoding' brought with it. Being able to play Burned DVD Games was NOT ONE OF 'EM! It was in point of fact just anouther reasion (as if I needed one!), to get a Modchip!

It amazes me that here we are deep into 2005 and the XBOX360? just a touch over Three Months away and there are still People out there to cheap to buy a Cheapmod Modchip!

Well, the only reason why people don't want to buy a cheap mod is because they are to afraid to solder in their $150 Xbox. Yet you see way more people w/ softmodding problems as opposed to people w/ chips.

I prefer chip method. I have Xecuter 3 CE but I've done other people boxes and a lot of them prefer softmod because they feel it's safer. When I try to explain to them the difference, they still want the softmod. You can't convince everybody, right?

Exactly!

Yeah, I am always going to be an Xecuter fan, but recently I started getting into DuoX2 chips and think they are awesome for the price you pay.

Well I been using softmod since they where released. And back the they had alot of problems, looping not been able to lauch some games ect..But UDE 1 & 2 jut blew all other exploits away....The only problem is that if you connect to xbox live M$ will try to remove the exploit and erase other stuff.Thats why I only use exploits to load evox & configmagic then I just flash TSOP and its like a mod chip....And I don't have to worrie about M$ any more.

You've gotta admit that
Chipped Xbox vs. Softmodded Xbox
Chipped will come out on top. Yeah, I'll give it to you that softmods have come a long yet and still, look where they stand in the face of a chipped box.

Progress between the two holds no comparison but and when it comes to quality there is definitely NO COMPARISON

This is one good argument for Solder-less Chips With execption to the utmost garbage out there Aladen springs to mind as beeing the ultimate 'Cheapmod' I can not think of one current Modchip on the Market today that does not offer a Solder-less solution. Yes you do pay more for it but, Unlike your average 'Sofmoder' I do not live in constant Perpetuallent fear of accedentaly sliping in a posion Disc like the StarWars Triliogy Boxset which has the XBOX? Demo of Battlefront and the DashUpdate.xbe on it either. I head a lot of People got Forked over that one last Year! =) If the X-S Forums were a judge to go by!

Bottom line a Good Modchip will set you back the price of One New Game Disc (ca. $50.00(USD) or so),. But for everything that it offers there's no 'Softmod' that can holdup to it. And one of the greatest memeories I have of my short stint into the wonderfull World that's 'Softmoding' was constantly fighting with the XBOX to just get it to work in the first place! More time then not I had to totaly rebuild the whole thing again. Because just one slip up is all it take to unravel the the whole thing and it's Error 16 to 21 Ville.

Error 16 & 21...bad memories of when I had first starting modding I saw the two of them a couple of times before I learned to work with chips.
