Hi i am trying to convert an AVI file that is 718 mb, to a vcd i tried to jsut use nero, but it wont fit onto the disc, i was wondering what was the best way to get this onto a vcd with the least hastle and the way that loses the least bit of quality, I also tried spliiting it in virtual dub and then try and burn it in nero but i kept on getting audio out of sync, cause it was like VBR instead of some other audio thing.

Thanks

Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to be able to put a 700mb video file on one CD-R as a VCD. Is it possible? Thanks!

Google avi2vcd. This program will convert an AVI file to a DivX file. It won't convert it to a DVD however. Just burn it on a regular cdr. It comes with a secondary sound conversion program that I've ALWAYS had to use first in order to do a successful conversion.

I MEANT it'll convert an AVI to an MPEG that you can then burn as a VCD.

Sorry bout that!

As long as the MPEG file that it coverts it to turns out to be 700. The program WILL let you split the resultant file where ever you want. Of course you'll then have to put it on 2 cd's but what the hey!

jlts1, does avi2vcd burn the discs for you? Or is it just a converter?

For VCD 1min = 10MB's. Any app will work as long as your source is only 72mins long. If it is more than 72mins then it is going to be more than 720MB's and if you want a VCD then there is nothing that you can do about it. The size of your source video is completely irrelevant.
