i've been ripping my dvd's with clonedvd2 and it used to take about 10-15 mins if that, but now it take almost an hour hour and a half. i can't figure out what's goin on/different program/burner?

Clean your disc well prior to ripping; even if it is new or looks clean... You'd be amazed at the problems a dirty disc will cause.

i did that step but now it won't reinstall the primary and secondary ide. it says that the driver isn't intended for this platform

Hi there,
This is the 1st I hear it does't work.
When you checked, were you in PIO mode ?
Are they not there at all, or there with a !exclamation! mark ?
Do you have your original XP CD ?
Maybe try update drivers, and point to your XP Disk when asked ! ? !
