Qoob Pro help?

Hi I have resently purchased a Qoob Pro Modchip. I tried installing it in my GC on my own and destroyed my GC... but luckily I had warrenty and took off the modchip and gave it back to EB and got a new one haha. Well I studied the GC this time and found out what I had done wrong. My question is on the red and black wires. First the black wire, do I totally combine the two points with the black wire? How am I exacly supose to "bridge" the two points? As for the red wire, do I clean the surface I solder it onto with flux or do I use a SOS pad to scrape off the yellow metal? Last but not least will the chip work without flashing it or do you have to flash it? I flashed mines but I didnt solder it onto the GC yet. Was that wrong? sorry I'm a newb when it comes to this sorta stuff I'm just getting into this scene. Thanks to anyone that can help. :)
