HP DVD200i +R/RW compatibility

Howdy,

I'm running an HP dvd200i +r/rw drive and am having compatibility issues. So far I have tried:

HP dvd+rw 2.4x media
- burned using DVD X-copy v1.4
- Incompatible with ps2 v5/6, Sony DVP NS300

HP dvd+r 2.4x media
- burned using DVD X-copy v1.4
- Incompatible with ps2 v5/6, Sony DVP NS300

Verbatim dvd+r 2.4x media
- burned using Smartripper 2.41 and Nero 5.5.10.7
- Incompatible with ps2 v5/6, Sony DVP NS300

As far as I know, the +r media should have worked (based on other compatibility results). I have the latest firmware installed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

HP dvd+rw 2.4x media
- burned using Nero v5.5.9.17
- Incompatible with ps2 v5/6, Compatible with Sony DVP NS300

Ritek dvd+r 2.4x media
- burned using Nero v5.5.9.17
- Compatible with ps2 v5/6, Sony DVP NS300
- Incompatible on Toshiba SD-M1202 DVD-ROM device

- Note - all tests mentioned so far were conducted by ripping a DVD using smartripper v2.41

I am having similiar issues with the HP 200e external.

I can't get DVD +R or +RW disks to play in my
Sony DVP-NS400D.

I tried the Software that came with the writer plus Nero 5.5 and now I'm going to try Gear Pro.

Make sure you update your DVD200i to the newest firmware from HP, the current is 1.51 I believe.

I have a Sony DVP-NS715P and have not had a single incompatible copy on it with +RW or +R, my discs have also worked on a friends Toshiba drive and a Panasonic dirve.

What software are you using to burn?

I have tried Nero and will try Gear Pro next.

Here is my whole issue:
I'm trying to copy digital photos to the DVD +R or +RW to view on my DVP-NS400D. I am creating te disc as a data disc. I have only tested it with 20mb on the disc. I've read several articles telling me to put at least 1/12 on the disc which for a DVD is roughly 400mb. Once I get enough photos WOW that is at least 400 photos I'll try again.

I was able to view a Video CD on it using a CD-RW and a CD-R but having no success with the DVD +R or +RW.
