When copying VHS to DVD with a Mercury Tuner Card and using Intervideo I get an excellant picture but the sound is very loud and has an almost to much "Treble" feel, does anyone have any suggestions?

Turn the volume down on the mixer. Right-clik on the speaker icon located on the start bar of your desktop. Clik the volume control for line-in and turn it down or if you can control the audio output from the vcr (preferrable) then turn it down. The audio is being amplified and there must be a control for it. Hope this helps.
