I've tried just about every tutorial out there for FTPing and I can't get it to work no matter what I do. The xbox doesnt even recgnize that it has a connection if it is plugged in directly to the PC. If I connect through my hub, however, it recognizes that there's a connection. However, I can't figure out the numbers (IP addresses and such) to get it to work. I do manage to get a connection with the following settings:

evolution x:
IP:192.168.1.3
Setup Network: yes
Use Static IP: yes
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 0.0.0.0
DNS: 0.0.0.0
Skip if no link: No

Network connections properties:
IP: 192.168.1.3
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0

However, when I try to connect with flashfxp, in the log it connects, logs in, but then doesn't show me the xbox directories. I've tried waiting up to a half hour and all it shows me is a big hourglass symbol
here is the log:

[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.4 -> IP=192.168.0.4 PORT=21
[R] Connected to 192.168.0.4

[R] 200 Port command ok.
[R] LIST -al
[R] 150 Opening ASCII data connection for ls /.

Does anyone know how I can connect for sure? I am so close, but no cigar!

Thanks in advance

Nope, still doesn't work. No matter what combination of numbers I get, I can't get into the xbox. The connection does happen: FlashFXP logs into the xbox with the username and password, but it won't show me anything and just keeps showing me an hourglass. Also, when I try to hook the xbox directly to my PC, neither party realizes that they are connected. The xbox says "no link" and the computer says "network cable is unplugged".

What can I do?

Hi
When you are trying to connect straight to the xbox you need a crossover lead not the straight through that you use with your hub. You probably tried this tutorial ???http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/ftpingproblem.htm

Yeah, I realized that after posting. However, you can use a straight through cable to connect through a hub, and that's what I cannot do, achieve a good connection to the xbox. The problem still remains.

A possible problem might be that I'm using static IP, while that tutorial clearly says that static should be turned OFF. However, unless I use static, I cannot get the xbox to have an IP Adress, it just has 0.0.0.0, and I can't connec tot 0.0.0.0. What should I do?

ok, you said your evox ip is:
192.168.1.3

Then you said that you were trying to connect to:
192.168.0.4

So, when you go to quick connect, type in 192.168.1.3 in the server/host area. Now it should work.
