is it possible to put the burned copy of vcd copied films back onto the hard drive
i used tmpeg and dvd to avi to do it originaly please help as i need to put what i have on 2 disks back to the hard drive

Just copy the .dat files and you should be able to watch them directly.

cheers but will it play continually for the whole movie or will i need to click the 2nd file to get the last half of the movie which would have been on the 2nd cd???

Yeah, you need to click the 2nd file separately. But you can also join the .dats with TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools -- choose Cut/Merge and load your .dats and join them.

can you use power dvd or win dvd and load the .dat files into the play list. thus they will play one right after the other.
I do this with ripped vob and mpeg files.

I havn't tried it with .dat files but both programs play vcd's.

Donate so we can keep this site running. Every little bit helps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That, or you could just make an .m3u playlist. Even though the playlist is intended for MP3s, it doesn't really matter what types of files you list. M3U-playlists are fully supported by eg. Media Player 6.4 (which is the only one I use).

Just format the list in this manner:
c:\my video files\video1.avi
d:\rest of my video files\video2.avi
e:\my video files\video3.avi

and open the playlist.m3u with your Media Player.
