problem playing .asf files with MV2 player, plays fine in WMP

I tried a few things and cannot seam to get asf files to play via MV2 player, I used to play them just fine but since a reinstall I could not. They play fine via WMP but not in MV2 so I have the codec but for some reason I cannot play them back on Mv2. Is there another codec I should try or is there something I should check in the settings? I searched and searhed and cannot seam to find an answer. Thanx in advance
