Hopefully someone can assist. I use DVD shrink, I am trying to burn a file which is around 7gig, so once I analyse the original, I then go into preferences and change the target dvd size to DVD-9 (8.5gig), which allows me then to encode the file, once this is done, I insert a double layer verbatim 8.5 gig DVD but get the following message "Sorry, your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disc. Please insert a disc of the correct type or modify your compilation to make them compatible with the current disc" Can someone tell me what to do to enable me to burn this file onto 1 dvd?

I have a dual layer burner, but media is still too expensive.

My thought is that if you have a dual layer burner & dual layer media, you should be able to run your movie through DVD Decrypter to break the encryption and then run it right back through DVD Decrypter to burn. If your backup is only 7GB, there should be no need for DVD Shrink if you're using dual layer media.

@mybarras: You can change the settings in DVD Shrink to make it DVD-9 size which is about 8.5GB. Bonesjnr said that's what he did.

Crozzman's right about the method to do it, but make sure you pick the MDS file when you burn, it has the layer break info I think.
