Why doesnt every company in the world PRESS their software so that no one can copy it? I mean that would be horrible but the human mind does wonder. Some one give input to this.

well you answered your own question. If people could just copy it from a buddy then they would not buy it, and free copies would end up on every torrent and IRC site. Then no one would need to buy the product that they spend their time and money to produce.

Steimy I think he meant that if all the companies pressed there software then it wouldn't be possible to copy it, therefore there would not be illegal disks floating around.

Im not sure if this is possible, just reiterating what was first posted.

What are you talking about? PS2 games are pressed, just like any other manufactured disc. The only thing you can't copy is the "boot code". You can actually copy a swap magic disc, but you would need some way to boot it (like everything else) so its pointless.

i figured everyone knew by now that they were all pressed
that is why you need a boot disc or mod chip, it can not copy the BCA (burst Cutting Area) on the disc

that is why back up movies will work without a mod or boot disc, they are burned discs, not pressed
