thanks for replying, sorry for the double posting, the first message didn't come out the first time after refreshing, didn't think it went through. Well, i have a LITE-ON dvd+,- burner, all it has on the burner is Model # IDE 1004, 4DVDRW-813, that's it, nothing more specific, and i'm using the VERBATIM DVD+R 16X, it's a 25 pack purple spindle, but the dvd+r's are not. My burner records but when i reinsert them into the drive, it won't read, the light goes on for reading, but nothing happens and comp. freezes. I put them in my dvd player and doesn't read them, but the other two in the house read them. PLEASE HELP ME, if you need more info, let me know, i'll tell you

ok..well, seems like you got your hands on some MCC004 Verbatim 16x DVD+R discs..those are VERY good in my opinion...next on the list...
what programs are you using to burn these dvds to? there is a GOOD possibility that your programs are burning @ max speed..meaning @16x..which is WAYYYYY too fast, even on such high quality media. on my 16x Verbs DVD+R, i burn @8x...some will even recommend burning @4x...less chance of errors...
i have a feeling your 2 stand alone dvd players in the house are less "picky" about discs...players that will play everything you throw at them; while your computer and YOUR dvd player are more finicky about them...
with your model liteon..im not sure which one it is..i can't find it on lite-on's website...there is a SOHW-832S
(Double Layer)
DR8VS0G.zip Windows 02/04/05 Match more media
and a SOHW-812S DR8US0Q.zip Windows 07/22/04 Match more media
and finally a LDW-811S DR8HSOR.ZIP Windows 09/03/04
i don't see the model number you are referring to...
here is the website to upgrade firmware for liteon...can't find your drive here...but, maybe you could....
http://www.liteonamericas.com/us/download.htm
let me know the info to the other questions i asked earlier...

well i'm downloading the firmwares for drive, i'll look into it and see which burner i have. the programs that i use for burning are CloneDVD which worked perfectly with maxell, fuji, memorex and other dvd+r's but for some reason don't work with verbatim, this is the first time i use them. i've CloneDVD with all of them, and i've had no problems at all until now, and i stopped using Nero until i get the updates and upgrades for it. i'll let you know about the firmware updates to see if they worked. oh yeah, the drive doesn't have any firmware updates at all yet and the rest of the disk that i've recorded are burned at 1X, or 2X, nothing more. thank you very much for helping me man

not a problem, just trying to offer you a glimmer of hope, whether it's the drive acting up or the discs...let me know how it works out...i'll be back if things are still problematic after the firmware checks out, etc. have a good one~
