Using slide tool with USBextreme?

Just wondering if it's possible to use the slide tool without Swap Magic. I have USBextreme and I'm wondering if it's possible to use the USBextreme boot disk to start the PS2 then eject that disk using the slide tool and then load a DVD-R or other backed up disk? Thanks.

that is the only way to put a backup game into your USBexteme HDD, but unless you want to play a game in your HDD, you wont be able to play direct from DVD source.

I know that's what I have to use to load games from a USB hard drive, I was just wondering if anyone had ever tried using the USBExtreme boot disk like the swap magic boot disk. Like when the load screen comes up using a slide tool to eject the USBextreme disk and put in a burnt DVD (instead of using a mod chip). Thanks
