Ok, I have just bought a DVD R/RW Drive from PC Club (http://www.pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A1558702).

I have a 55 minute movie that I would like to put on a DVD. It is 148 MB.

I have been using Sonic MyDVD to record these, but it always freezes when it is almost done transcoding, or it will take 6-7 hours.

I am using blank DVD-R when I record these, so you know.

Please help me so that I can record this!

Thanks!

Michael

Sorry, but a 55 minute movie of only 148 MB is not worth putting on DVD. What format is the movie in and do you really need it on DVD?

Paul.

I could also be wrong about the size. For the description of the movie, it says its 151,830 KB. I don't know if that is equal to 148 MB.

The format of the movie is a .avi, and yes, I really need this on a DVD.

OK, yes that is 148 MB and it is small for a 55 minute movie. What you could do is convert this to a VCD using TMPGEnc, which would be recorded on CDR media, but work in almost all DVD players! If you insist on DVD media, then you would need to convert to DVD in TMPGEnc (although this facility is only on the paid for version of the software) and then burn to DVD.

In each case, you could use TMPGEnc for the encoding and Nero for the burning.

The quality of DVD will not be better, I guarantee it, as the quality is already low on the format you have.

Paul.
