Just got DVDClone2 and works great. Works better for me than XCopy Express ever did. I used to use XCopy Platinum to back up uncompressed movies onto two discs, with very limited success. Why can't there be a DVDClone program to backup uncompressed movies onto two discs like Platinum? I just don't have the money right now, to get into d/l discs.

Are you talking about the slysoft CloneDVD program, because if you are you can split and back up to two disks. If you just want to backup the movie only to two disks you can use the free program DVD Shrink and use the start and end frames in re-author, you will however loose you menu with this function.

Yes. I am using CloneDVD2/AnyDVD and would like to backup a 1 to 1 copy so as not to lose quality of the original. I really don't care about all of the other features on the DVD as this is only a backup to watch the movie, but I do want a 1:1 copy.

Open CloneDVD2, click on 'help', and you will get access to the user manual. Directions for 'splitting' discs are in the 'using the application' section. They may sound a little complex but are not really that bad if you follow them step by step. This option allows you to retain menu features if desired.

arniebear,
Just tried your method of splitting the movie using CloneDVD2 and it works! I've only tried one movie, The Green Mile, so far, but I suspect it will work well on others too. Thanks so much. I've been messing with XCopy Platinum long enough.

@darita

Glad this method worked for you, CloneDVD has one of the best split techniques because you can preserve the menu on both disks, this is great for TV series episodal disks. As for Xcopy it was the best in its time, but there are now better programs. Happy burning.
